What is RSS?

ScienceAlert’s feeds use RSS (Really Simple Syndication), therefore they are also called RSS feeds. RSS is a standard file format for syndicating information on the web. Today all mainstream news sites are publishing RSS feeds. There is a wide range of applications that support RSS feeds, including personalised homepages, newsreaders, e-mail clients, and web browsers, available on the web.  

What is a personalised homepage?

A personalised homepage allows you to easily consolidate and organise information from multiple feeds on a single web page. See an interesting headline or summary? Click on the title and you are taken to the source. All the major web portals provide personalised homepages. We recommend Google's.
